While most of the major smartphone makers have launched 5G devices in 2019, Apple is still holding out. iPhone 11 series ended up with 4G. But there are strong rumors that it won’t be the same with 2020 iPhones.
A new report claims that iPhones in 2020 will have Qualcomm’s X55 5G modem. Also, Apple’s A14 SoC (System-on-Chip) is said to have 5 nanometer chipset. It will be using world’s most advanced fabrication process. Only Apple and Huawei are planning to use 5 nm fabrication process next year.
As more operators are getting their 5G networks live at a faster pace in 2019, there will be increasing demand for 5G devices by the end of 2020. And for the same reason, Apple needs to unveil at least one 5G iPhone next year.
